Privacy policy

Correctify is built to respect your privacy. This page explains, in plain terms, what data is processed and how.

No personal data

Correctify collects no personal data: neither the content of your texts nor your API key is transmitted or stored. The extensions (Chrome, Firefox, Thunderbird) talk to no Correctify server. Only the desktop app sends anonymous usage statistics (see below).

Your API key stays with you

The API key you enter is stored locally, on your device. It is never sent to Correctify.

Text processing

When you fix a text, that text is sent directly (from your browser, Thunderbird or the app) to the AI provider matching your key (Google Gemini, OpenAI or Anthropic). The correction is returned to you. This processing is governed by the terms and privacy policy of the provider you chose.

Anonymous usage statistics (desktop app)

The desktop app sends strictly anonymous usage statistics to correctify.fr, to measure usage and service reliability (legal basis: legitimate interest). No identifying data, no IP address and none of your text content are stored. If an error occurs, an anonymous report may also be sent to help fix issues; you can turn it off in the app’s options.

Extension permissions

The requested permissions are used only to read the text you select, replace it with the corrected version, and contact the AI API. No browsing is tracked.
