Is Correctify really free?
Yes. The extension is free and ad-free. You use your own API key with the AI provider of your choice; depending on your usage, that provider may apply its own pricing (a free tier is often enough).
How much does the API key cost and how do I get one?
Creating a key is free. With Google Gemini, the free tier is usually enough for everyday use; OpenAI (ChatGPT) and Anthropic (Claude) bill per use, only a few cents given how short corrections are. Our “How to get an API key” page walks you through creating one for each provider.
Which languages are supported?
The text’s language is detected automatically, so Correctify fixes text in nearly every language the AI supports, including English and French. Text is never translated, only corrected.
Is my text stored anywhere?
No. Correctify has no server. The selected text is sent directly to the AI provider matching your key, then the correction is returned. Nothing is kept on our side.
Where does Correctify work?
On Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox for the whole web, and on Mozilla Thunderbird for your emails. There’s also a Windows app that fixes text in any software (Word, Outlook, chat apps…), not just the browser. A dedicated page covers each version.
Do I need an account?
No account is required. Just install the extension and enter your API key once.
